Administration
The primary responsibility of the administrative team is instructional leadership. The administrative team is responsible to the superintendent and the Board of Education for the delivery of educational services to the students. The administrative team is one element of the support staff that insures that teachers are able to teach and students are able to learn. The administrative team is the official liaison to the Central Office staff. It is incumbent upon the Administrative Team to insure that federal and state laws and regulations, and local Board of Education policies are followed.
Albert Aragon
Principal
Mr. Albert Aragon has been the Principal of Valencia High School since 2018. Prior to that, he was an Assistant Principal at Valencia High School from 2014 to 2018. Mr. Aragon has been involved in education since 1998 and has taught Physical Education, Health, and Gifted courses at the Secondary Level. He has also held the position of Head Basketball Coach of Los Lunas High School and Athletic Coordinator at Los Lunas Schools. Mr. Aragon earned his Bachelor of Arts in Education from Eastern New Mexico University and his Master of Education from Grand Canyon University.
Paul Carder
Assistant Principal
Mr. Paul Carder has been working in public education with Los Lunas Schools since 2008. He has taught various classes in Language Arts and Social Studies, and has also served as Principal and Assistant Principal at the high school level. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education, a Master of Education from Wayland Baptist University, and a Certificate in Educational Administration from New Mexico Highlands University. Mr. Carder has been married to his wife, Teresa, for 23 years, and they currently reside in Los Lunas.
Jennifer Otero
Assistant Principal
Mrs. Jennifer Otero has been in public education with Los Lunas Schools for 27 years. She has taught various grades at the elementary level, as well as worked in healthcare management for six years. Mrs. Otero's degrees include a Bachelor’s of Arts in Elementary and Special Education from New Mexico Highlands, a Master's in Elementary Reading Education from the University of New Mexico, and a Certificate in Educational Administration from Eastern New Mexico University. A lifelong resident of El Cerro Loop, Mrs. Otero has been married to her husband Joe for 35 years and has three daughters, all of whom are graduates of Valencia High School, and two amazing grandsons!
